For Students in Padang and Bandung XLFL Gives Tips to Face the World of Work

Padang, 17 May 2023. PT XL Axiata Tbk (XL Axiata) through the XL Axiata Future Leaders (XLFL) program, provides training in the form of workshops for students on how to prepare themselves for the world of work. Workshops were held in Padang and Bandung. Provisioning material on Professional Communication to get a job delivered by XL Axiata's Head of Talent Acquisition, Aztia Pertiwi Damukuto, and the XLFL Team.

 

In Padang, in collaboration with Andalas University (Unand), a workshop themed "Find The Right Opportunity" took place on Wednesday (17/5), with around 1,000 students participating from various faculties and majors. XL Axiata also shared knowledge about the recruitment system at XL Axiata and the industry in general. With this knowledge, participants can find out how private companies conduct employee recruitment, and what recruitment participants must prepare in order to qualify. The event was also attended by the Deputy Rector of Andalas University, Prof. Dr. Mansyurdin, MS.

 

Group Head of XL Axiata West Region, Desy Sari Dewi, said, "Through the XLFL program, XL Axiata tries to get involved directly by sharing knowledge about preparing to enter the world of work with sufficient provisions, making it easier to get a job and also build a career in the world of work. “We hope that Unand alumni can be successful and become leaders who make us all proud in the future.”

 

Desy added that XL Axiata really appreciated UNAND for giving XL Axiata the opportunity through the XLFL program in collaboration with the Andalas University Career Center to provide this training. Some UNAND students are also participants or have received scholarships from the XLFL program. At least 30 UNAND students have participated in the XLFL program and are currently working in various companies.

 

Meanwhile in Bandung, a workshop by elearn.id in collaboration with TedXITB, took the theme "Take Action: How to Step Out of Your Comfort Zone". The event took place in the Seminar Room Labtek 3, Saturday (20/05). The TedXITB 6.0 event aims to invite more young people to have the courage to realize their ideas and innovations.

 

The debriefing material in Padang and Bandung raised the need for Professional Communication to be able to compete in the world of work. Professional Communication is not only used when already working, but also in the process of looking for work as well. Professional Communication requires its own tricks to be able to convince companies when applying for a job, especially for students who are about to graduate and are looking for work.

 

This debriefing is useful for students who will graduate to apply for various jobs. Good Professional Communication is needed to speak appropriately with various characters of people, listen effectively, express ideas precisely and clearly, and many other things. The materials presented in the debriefing have also been successfully applied by alumni students of the XLFL program from various universities in Indonesia. They have currently pursued careers in many institutions, including government agencies and large companies, at home and abroad.

Various materials for improving soft skills are available on this platform, which can increase students' knowledge and skills which are very useful for self-development.
