Belitung, 4 January 2023. PT XL Axiata Tbk (XL Axiata) received an award from the Regent of Belitung, H Sahani Saleh, S.Sos and Vice Regent of Belitung, Isyak Meirobie, for the support and collaboration of XL Axiata with the Regency Government of Belitung in the success of the international events G-20 Development Ministerial Meeting (DMM), 7-9 September 2022 and World Ocean Assessment (WOA), 12-15 December 2022 in Belitung. The “Best International Event Collaboration Category” award was directly handed over by the Regent of Belitung, H Sahani Saleh, S.Sos to XL Axiata representative, Territory Sales Manager for Belitung area, Sinta Dewi Sujana at Satam Belitung Roundabout, Saturday (31/12).
Group Head of XL Axiata West Region, Desy Sari Dewi said, “The award received from the Regent of Belitung is an honour for us. Belitung is one of XL Axiata's winning areas, with the largest market share since more than 10 years ago. The success of the international events in Belitung is also our responsibility as a telecommunications company that provides quality internet services. We deliberately present 5G networks and services in Belitung to show our customers and the local community that XL Axiata is increasingly ready to provide these 5G services. Of course we also hope that our 5G service has succeeded in the international events in Belitung, which will be able to improve Indonesia's reputation in the eyes of the world community, especially the Bangka Belitung Islands."
Desy added that XL Axiata is also strengthening the 4G network in the Province of Bangka Belitung, considering that international events are a momentum for the regional government and the people of the province to revive the local tourism sector. Several XL Axiata teams were also present at the event location to ensure that the delegates' communications and internet packages could be used. So that when these international delegates are present, both from within and outside the country while in Bangka Belitung, they can continue to use XL Axiata's internet services while participating in the international events. For this reason, network strengthening has been carried out, including in the form of optimization, fiberization, coverage expansion, to increasing network capacity in strategic locations and leading tourist destinations.
The total number of XL Axiata 4G BTS on Bumi Laskar Pelangi has also continued to increase, to date, the total number of 4G BTS has reached around 1,300 units out of a total of more than 2,000 BTS overall, serving all areas in the Province of Bangka Belitung. The number of XL Axiata customers has reached around 625 thousand customers in all provinces, including more than 145 thousand customers in the Regency of Belitung.
Several areas currently being developed to improve the XL Axiata network include Manggar, Gantung, Tanjung Pandan, Simpang Renggiang, Pangganglong, Damar and Sijuk. In these areas there are many tourist destinations and local economic centres.
