Jakarta, July 25, 2025 – PT XLSMART Telecom Sejahtera Tbk (XLSMART), in collaboration with the Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia (Komdigi), released a strategic collaborative initiative titled #1JutaSisterDigital through the Sisternet program. This collaboration is a key move towards increasing Indonesian women's participation and empowerment in the digital space through inclusive and accessible technology and Artificial Intelligence (AI) literacy. On Thursday (July 24), XLSMART and Komdigi officially established this collaboration at the BRAVO-500 Summit 2025 in Jakarta.
Minister of Communication and Digital Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, Meutya Hafid, stated, "Indonesian women have enormous potential to spearhead the digital revolution. The government aggressively supports cross-sector collaborations, especially with corporations like XLSMART, to guarantee that digital transformation benefits all levels of society. This program is a strategic step to empower women not just as users, but as key players in the digital economy."
The #1JutaSisterDigital program represents a tangible synergy between the government and the private sector to enhance digital literacy in an inclusive and sustainable manner. This initiative coincides with the government's commitment to advancing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 5 on gender equality by strengthening women's leadership, SDG 4 on access to quality education, SDG 8 on creating decent jobs based on future ready skills, and SDG 9, which emphasises the importance of innovation and infrastructure development through inclusive digital programs.
"Our efforts go beyond accelerating digitalisation, we aim to ensure that women can thrive without limits and gain digital value through a strong technological foundation to compete and lead in the tech driven digital economy," stated Rajeev Sethi during the signing ceremony.
The #1JutaSisterDigital program is based on three primary pillars. The first is to integrate the Sisternet application with Komdigi's Learning Management System (LMS). This integration enables Indonesian women to easily access an array of digital literacy educational materials directly from the Sisternet app. The learning modules, developed by Komdigi, are intended to reach more learners via Sisternet, the primary platform for inclusive and sustainable digital learning.
The second pillar is the AI Bootcamp, which is based on the Female Future Leader (FFL) program and has previously reached over 70,000 beneficiaries across Indonesia. Moving forward, in collaboration with Komdigi, the FFL program will provide an AI Bootcamp to 100,000 Indonesian women. This initiative is expected to significantly expand the impact of AI training, particularly among female university students, as part of strengthening women’s digital talent in the field of artificial intelligence. The program will be provided in a hybrid method, combining AI Bootcamps with online digital literacy training, allowing for a wider reach, including remote areas. Furthermore, it will involve around 20 campuses and communities, encourage active use of the Sisternet app as a digital touchpoint, and bring together women from a variety of industries, startups, and professional fields.
The third pillar involves industry engagement through the BRAVO 500 Summit 2025, a national exclusive forum that brings together Indonesia's top 500 corporations, technology leaders, regulators, and national media. This forum serves as an arena for improving digital literacy in the corporate sector and strengthening national strategic collaboration in the era of AI, IoT, cloud computing, and cybersecurity.
"I'm pleased that this initiative creates equitable prospects for Indonesia, not only as a user of digital technology but also as a creator of future digital solutions. Using a data driven approach, this program supports the national strategy to develop 1 million female digital talents and AI leaders through LMS integration, the Female Future Leader AI Bootcamp, and the BRAVO 500 Summit 2025, paving the way for Indonesia Emas 2045," Meutya Hafid stated following the signing ceremony at the BRAVO 500 Summit 2025.
Looking ahead, #1JutaSisterDigital will serve as a platform to assess and strengthen the government and private sectors' collaborative commitment to increasing Indonesian women's participation in a future-skills and AI driven digital transformation era. The primary goal is to bridge the digital gender gap in Indonesia by providing equitable access to digital tools. The initiative will implement community empowerment mechanisms and encourage young women to build their digital capabilities and readiness for the AI and tech-driven future.
Sisternet currently serves 1.3 million beneficiaries, including MSMEs, university students, professionals, and female correctional facility inmates throughout Indonesia. The #1JutaSisterDigital program, which aims to create long-term economic impact and a more inclusive future, will run from September 2025 to the end of 2026, with the goal of nurturing 1 million new female digital talents in collaboration with Komdigi and XLSMART empowering nearly 2.4 million Indonesian women to move forward without limitations and fully harness digitalisation for a better life.
