XL Axiata Continues to Expand Network 4G Network Reaches 92% Villages in Lampung

Bandar Lampung, 2 July 2021. PT XL Axiata (XL Axiata) continues to expand its data network in all service areas, including Lampung Province, in line with the growth of traffic and number of subscribers. As a result, currently XL Axiata's 4G network has reached around 92% of villages in the entire province, or 2,431 villages out of a total of 2,653 villages, located in 205 districts. The expansion of the network is still continuing, and currently, among others, it is in the process of network construction in the area of North Lampung and Tanggamus Regency.

  

XL Axiata West Region Group Head, Desy Sari Dewi said, "Traffic of our services use continues to grow along with the increasing number of customers, the expansion of the network to remote rural areas, and the increasing quality of the network that is able to provide customer convenience. Currently, throughout Lampung, the XL Axiata network is strengthened by more than 3,300 BTS, including more than 1,400 4G BTS. The number of BTS will continue to grow in line with the ongoing network expansion, including to new areas that were previously unreachable by cellular services.”

 

According to Desy, in addition to expansion, data network quality improvement is also continuously carried out in all cities/regencies considering the significant traffic growth every year, some even increasing up to 200%. The improvement of network quality performed among others, on RAN and transport to increase network capacity so that the service received by customers is better. As a result, the quality of the data network on the average is good for accessing various types of data services, including those with large capacities such as streaming video. Some areas that have received improvement of network quality include Tanggamus, Pesisir Barat, Way Kanan, West Lampung, and North Lampung.

 

Meanwhile, to increase coverage, XL Axiata has also expanded its qualified data network up to the remote rural areas, including in Hulusungkai District, North Lampung Regency, and Bulok District in Tanggamus Regency. Since July 2020, residents of a number of villages in the two districts can enjoy XL Axiata's 4G network.

Along with network expansion and service quality improvement, XL Axiata also provides a variety of XL and AXIS products that are tailored to the needs of various customer segments. Providing Access of School Internet

 

To support in the provision of internet access facility for the students participating in the distance learning (PJJ), XL Axiata made a donation in the form of internet access facilities using routers for 10 schools in Tanggamus Regency. Each school gets one router unit. Each router can be accessed simultaneously up to 32 devices, both smartphones, tablets, and laptops. XL Axiata also provides each router with a free 20GB data package that will be charged every month for a year.

 

The 10 schools consist of SMA 1 Talang Padang, MAN 1 Tanggamus, SMAN 1 Kota Agung, SMA Muhammadiyah Kota Agung, SMAN 2 Kota Agung, SMPN 1 Ulubelu, SMKN 1 Pugung, SMPN 3 Pugung, SMAN 1 Ulubelu and SMK PGRI 1 Kota Agung, Lampung Province.

 

The donation ceremony took place in May 2021 at SMA 1 Talang Padang, Tanggamus Regency, Lampung. The donation was handed over by the Territory Sales Manager of XL Axiata for the Lampung area, Yanuar Eka Fitri who handed it over directly to the school representative, Mudakir, the Deputy Principal for Student Affairs.
