XLSMART Provides Free Internet Access in Aceh
XLSMART also donated internet quotas and supporting devices to 21 educational institutions in Aceh Province, which included Islamic boarding schools (pesantren), special needs schools, public schools, orphanages, and other institutions. The initiative is part of the XLSMART Quota Donation Movement (GDK), which aims to provide free internet access in Aceh. XLSMART hopes that by increasing internet access, it will improve education quality, open business opportunities, and support local economic growth. Students and teachers are expected to leverage technology to enhance learning and broaden their knowledge.
Some beneficiary institutions include Yayasan Pendidikan Sekolah Inspirasi Bangsa Aceh Tamiang, SLBN Bambi Sigli, SLB Cinta Mandiri Lhokseumawe, SMA Muhammadiyah Langsa, Universitas Serambi Mekah Banda Aceh, SMKN 1 Sigli, Yayasan Pesantren Dayah Mini Aceh, SMAN 5 Lhokseumawe, and several others.
Rahmah Nur Rizki, S.Psi., M.Psi., Chairwoman of Yayasan Pendidikan Sekolah Inspirasi Bangsa, Aceh Tamiang, stated "With gratitude, we welcome XLSMART's Quota Donation Movement (GDK) program to our school. This program is truly beneficial, especially since not all students have proper access to internet technology. With this program, we believe that every student will be able to learn more effectively without being constrained by access limitations. We want to thank XLSMART and everyone participating in this program. May this collaboration bring great benefits to education in Indonesia"
She added that education is every child's right, and she hopes that through XLSMART's GDK program, more people would be inspired to care about education. This is a critical first step towards more egalitarian education in Indonesia. With the right support, every child deserves access to quality education, regardless of their economic background.
Customers who desire to contribute might choose the beneficiary category (school, pesantren, orphanage/special needs school, or children's home) and the amount of quota to donate (50MB, 100MB, or 150MB). The collected quota is subsequently distributed, along with XLSMART routers, to educational institutions in need.
Furthermore, XLSMART is committed to collaborating with local governments and non-governmental organisations (NGOs) to ensure the program's sustainability. With the support of many stakeholders, XLSMART seeks to build an inclusive and sustainable digital environment in Aceh. Through this initiative, Aceh is expected to advance in technology and information and compete with other regions across Indonesia.
