This enhancement of data network quality underlines XLSMART’s commitment to supporting the event and offering fast internet services for customers and the public. XLSMART is providing a faster and more stable connectivity experience for all customers at the 2025 Pacu Jalur Festival in Kuansing, Riau Province, while also encouraging innovation and enhancing the customer experience. Over the preceding two years, XLSMART upgraded over 700 Base Transceiver Stations (BTS) and established approximately 31 new BTS in Riau Province. Specifically in Kuansing, the company upgraded 41 BTS and added 2 BTS.

Desy Sari Dewi, Group Head of XLSMART West Region, stated, "XLSMART is committed to maintaining high quality data networks to ensure the smooth operation and success of the 2025 Pacu Jalur Festival in Kuansing. We conducted more preparations by adding one mobile base transceiver station (MBTS) in the Pacu Jalur area to enhance network reliability during the event. Capacity enhancements will be performed at BTS stations serving the event area with anticipated traffic surges to ensure customers continue to enjoy reliable and high quality connectivity."

Desy added that XLSMART is currently integrating and expanding its network following the merger of XL Axiata and Smartfren. This initiative is part of a larger effort to strengthen and equalise communication access throughout Indonesia, in line with XLSMART's mission of connecting every Indonesian to a better life. Residents in Indragiri Hilir, Indragiri Hulu, Rokan Hulu, Rokan Hilir, and Kepulauan Meranti Regencies are benefiting from Riau Province's network growth. XLSMART continues to provide better and more comprehensive services in the spirit of Together, Go Beyond.

In Riau Province, BTS expansion has kept up with the significant increase in data service traffic. Pekanbaru City and Kampar Regency have recorded the highest traffic, indicating the community's growing desire to have a better connection. With these BTS additions, the quality of data services is projected to improve, allowing the public to enjoy faster and more reliable internet access.

XLSMART is expanding its network coverage throughout Riau Province, giving fresh energy to local communities. Significant improvements in service quality will enable easier communication, boosting both personal and business connections. This transformation not only supports connectivity, but it stimulates local economic growth, generates new opportunities, and enhances quality of life. Residents of Riau might expect to have greater chances and live more meaningful lives as their connections to the outside world improve.

Currently, XLSMART's network in Riau Province covers approximately 1,450 villages, 156 subdistricts, and 22 cities/regencies, with over 5,000 BTS, most of which are 4G.

XLSMART Provides Free Internet Access for Schools

On Monday, August 11, XLSMART donated internet data quotas and accompanying equipment to three educational institutions in the Kuantan Singingi (Kuansing) Regency of Riau Province. The initiative is part of the XLSMART Data Quota Donation Movement (GDK) Program, which seeks to improve digital literacy in educational institutions while supporting tourism development in Kuansing. With greater internet access, students and educators are expected to leverage technology to improve learning quality and widen knowledge.

The three GDK beneficiary institutions are SD Negeri 013 Pintu Gobang Kari Kuansing, SLBN Kuansing, and the Aisiyah Orphanage Kuansing. These institutions play a vital role in supporting education and child welfare in Kuansing. Rayyan Arkan Dikha, often known as Dika, is an inspiring personality among GDK beneficiary schools. Born on September 28, 2014, Dika is now in the fifth grade at SD Negeri 013 Pintu Gobang Kari Kuansing. Despite his young age, Dika has achieved remarkable success, being named Riau Province's Tourism Ambassador and receiving an education scholarship, demonstrating that with passion and the right support, children can achieve their ambitions.

The GDK Program not only focuses on the education sector but also aims to support tourism development in Kuansing, which holds significant potential in the industry especially through the world renowned Pacu Jalur Festival. XLSMART is committed to ensuring the success of this event, which will attract more attention and visitors, resulting in a good influence on the local community. With this support, Kuansing is expected to progress further and gain recognition on both national and international stages.

Meanwhile, Ropis Indra, S.Pd.I., Principal of SD Negeri 013 Pintu Gobang Kari Kuansing, welcomed the GDK present to his school. This is particularly important since not all students have equal access to internet technology. With this approach, every student is anticipated to learn more effectively without being constrained by limitations on access.

"We hope that the Data Quota Donation Movement (GDK) would motivate more parties to care about education and serve as a starting point for more equal educational advancement in Indonesia. "With the right support, all children in Indonesia deserve quality education, regardless of their socioeconomic status," said Ropis Indra, S.Pd.I.

XLSMART’s internet quota donation program, known as the Data Quota Donation Movement (GDK), enables XL and AXIS users to give a portion of their internet quota through the myXL and AXISNet applications. The donated quota is subsequently allocated to various Indonesian educational institutions, providing them with free internet access for 12 months.

Customers can choose the beneficiary category (school, Islamic boarding school, orphanage/special needs school, orphanage) and donation amount (50MB, 100MB, or 150MB). The collected quotas are subsequently delivered to underserved educational institutions via XLSMART router donations.

The program aims to support the digitalization of education in Indonesia by providing free internet access to educational institutions. Customers can make donations more than once a day.

Supporting Smooth Traffic in Kuansing

Pacu Jalur, one of Kuansing's most revered cultural traditions, necessitates special attention to traffic regulation around the venue. To ensure smooth traffic flow, XLSMART has collaborated with the Kuansing Police Department to erect road barriers. XLSMART Regional Brand & Marketing representative Jefrie personally handed over the road barriers to AKP A. Ramadhan, S.H., M.Si., the Kuansing Police Department's Head of Traffic.

The setting up of road barriers along the race route aims to ensure the event turns smoothly and safely. These barriers help to regulate vehicle flow, prevent accidents, and preserve motorist safety, particularly during major events like Pacu Jalur. With the barriers in place, drivers can concentrate more and avoid potential hazards from incoming vehicles. Furthermore, the barriers help to maintain order and discipline on the road, making it a safer and more comfortable environment for all road users.

By installing road barriers along the Pacu Jalur route, we can ensure that the event runs smoothly and safely.
