Semarang. September 27, 2025 – PT XLSMART Telecom Sejahtera Tbk (XLSMART) continues its commitment to supporting diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) through the "XLSMART Peduli Disabilitas Berdaya" program. This time, the training series took place in Hotel Candi Indah in Semarang, with deaf and physically disabled communities attending sessions on digital literacy and entrepreneurship. On Friday (September 26), Deputy Program Director DT Peduli Iwan Firmansyah, Head of Corporate Communication & CSR XLSMART Dani M. Akhyar, and academic and digital media practitioner Swita Amalia Hapsari attended the event.
The XLSMART Peduli Disabilitas Berdaya training series has been going from June 2025, commencing offline in Bandung, West Java and continuing online on September 10 and 18, 2025, with over 265 participants with disabilities. They came from 65 cities in Sumatra, Java, Bali, Kalimantan, Sulawesi, NTB, NTT, and Papua, represented the deaf, disabled, visually impaired (and low vision), hard of hearing (HoH), mental, intellectual, and dwarfism communities.
The training was jointly organised by Darut Tauhid Peduli (DT Peduli), Bloggercrony Indonesia Community (BCC), the Indonesian Disability Association (PPDI), Peak Performance Indonesia, and the Semarang Chapter of Gerkatin (Indonesian Movement for the Welfare of the Deaf). In this training program, participants with disabilities were mentored by experts in order to improve their digital abilities. They were urged to learn regarding digital security and ethics, and they were also shown how to use AI technology to create promotional content for their MSMEs on social media. Pre- and post-tests were also administered to assess the participants' learning achievements.

Arif added that individuals with disabilities continue experiencing difficulties in accessing information and a lack of appropriate training. The company's aim with this program is to provide a path for persons with disabilities to use digital channels as effective media to promote their businesses, compete in entrepreneurship, and eventually attain economic independence. XLSMART is also committed to expanding this initiative to more cities and reaching out to more people with disabilities, allowing them to benefit from the XLSMART Peduli Disabilitas program.
XLSMART Peduli Disabilitas is a sustainable program that has been established from 2023 through 2024. In 2023, activities included distributing basic food packages to Islamic boarding schools and disability foundations, as well as providing digital literacy training at Pesantren Tuna Rungu Temanggung in Central Java. In 2024, digital literacy training was expanded to a deaf boarding school in Bandung, followed by the Disabilitas Siap Kerja (Disabilities Ready to Work) training program in Medan, Surabaya, Jakarta, and Bandung. In addition, XLSMART provided inclusive internship programs for people with disabilities at its Jakarta headquarters and regional offices in Bandung, Medan, and Surabaya.
XLSMART targets several objectives through this training, first, to enhance the potential and confidence of people with disabilities in developing their businesses. Second, participants' digital literacy abilities will be improved so that businesses may leverage social media and online marketplaces to enhance their business reach. Third, to ensure that all participants have equitable access to digital entrepreneurship so that they can create independent, sustainable businesses.
