CEO Rajeev Sethi Introduces XLSMART Identity:

Surabaya, April 30, 2025 — PT XLSMART Telecom Sejahtera Tbk ("XLSMART" or "IDX: EXCL") has been officially established as an integrated telecommunications entity, resulting from the merger of PT XL Axiata Tbk, PT Smartfren Telecom Tbk, and PT Smart Telecom. This historic moment marks the beginning of a new chapter in Indonesia's digital era, with XLSMART set to redefine connectivity, drive innovation, and enhance customer experiences across the archipelago — including the East Region covering East Java, Bali, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), and East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), one of Indonesia’s key growth markets.

 

XLSMART President Director and CEO, Rajeev Sethi, delivered this message at an event held today (4/30) in Surabaya. “The establishment of XLSMART is a major step forward in expanding and strengthening our role in promoting equitable national connectivity. The East Region, with its vast and diverse market potential, is a key focus in our service expansion and transformation strategy,” he said.

 

By merging the distribution channels of XL Axiata and Smartfren, XLSMART is committed to significantly expanding network coverage and service distribution — not only in East Java and Bali but also in NTB and NTT. This move strengthens XLSMART’s position, with the market share in the East Region projected to improve substantially.

 

XLSMART also reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining and developing its three main brands — XL, AXIS, and Smartfren — each focusing on different customer segments, from premium and regular users to value seekers. With a relevant and competitive product segmentation strategy, customers will enjoy flexible packages, affordable prices, large data quotas, access to popular digital platforms, and a variety of digital service bonuses. In addition, XLSMART will continue to focus on driving the growth of its Fixed Mobile Convergence (FMC) and Fixed Broadband (FBB) services.

 

Following the network integration, XLSMART's service coverage in East Java, Bali, NTB, and NTT will be broader and of higher quality, supported by an ever-strengthening mobile and fiber optic backbone. XLSMART continues to invest heavily in 4G network expansion and the implementation of automated network technologies to boost service performance, particularly in suburban and rural areas, making XLSMART the provider of choice for communities across these regions.

 

In addition to strengthening technical infrastructure, XLSMART is expanding its physical presence through strategic service centers like XL Centers, Smartfren Galleries, and partner outlets located throughout strategic areas in East Java, Bali, NTB, and NTT, making it easier for customers to access services and support.
