Karo, July 4, 2025 — Employees of PT XLSMART Telecom Sejahtera Tbk (XLSMART), through Majelis Ta'lim XLSMART (MTXLSMART), held the "Gebyar Muharram 1447 H" program under the themes #GebyarBerbagi and #BersamaDiMuharram. This program is held annually in several cities throughout Indonesia. This year, XLSMART employees distributed donations in 10 cities, including Palembang and Karo Regency in Sumatra. The donations included food packages, school supplies, and cash. On Thursday (3/7), donations were delivered to the As Safaat Orphanage in Palembang, while in Karo Regency, North Sumatra, school supply packages (60 sets), cash, Qurans, Iqro books, mukena (prayer garments), and educational books were distributed to a madrasah in Tiga Pancur Village, located at the foot of Mount Sinabung.
In Palembang, the distribution was attended by Budi Utama Lubis, Head of Sales XLSMART West Southern 2, and Aryani, Head of the As Safaat Orphanage. In Tiga Pancur Village, Karo, attendees included Nazar Ruddin (Territory Sales XLSMART Medan), Aldi Desmet (Chairman of MTXLSMART West), Jusuf Ginting (Head of Vocational School Division, Karo), Riski Cahyadi (Chairman of Indonesian Photojournalists Association - PFI Medan), Dr. Muhammad Said Harahap, S.Sos., M.I.Kom (Chairman of the Indonesian Photography Profession Association - APFI North Sumatra), Dadang Fahruzi Ritonga (Representative from Bank Indonesia North Sumatra), and other community leaders.
Mochamad Hira Kurnia, Chief Human Capital Officer of XLSMART, stated, "The month of Muharram represents not only the start of the Islamic calendar year, but also an opportunity to strengthen our faith and renew our commitment to values of goodness and justice. Let us commemorate this great month by thankfulness, social awareness, and unity. We are grateful to be able to celebrate Gebyar Muharram this year with a renewed sense of sharing and compassion. We seek to alleviate the strain on families and promote joy throughout this holy month of Muharram 1447H by organising mass circumcision events, movie screenings for orphans, and donation distribution.”
Hira added that the program aims to foster unity and compassion within the community while supporting those in need. XLSMART invites everyone to participate, whether as volunteers or donors. “Every contribution, no matter how small, will make a significant difference to those in need,” he said.
The mass circumcision events will take place concurrently at three locations: the XLSMART Tower, the XLSMART Sabang office, and Gedung Multiguna in Gegesik Village, Cirebon Regency. The events are supported by expert medical staff and sanitary facilities provided by Inisiatif Zakat Indonesia (IZI) Jakarta and DT Peduli Cirebon, assuring a seamless and safe experience for all participants. Other activities include Movie Screenings for Orphans, MuharRUN, Charity Rally, Archery, Shopping with Orphans, Clean Water Access Initiatives, and Bridge Access Support.
Meanwhile, Yanuar Tirta Kumaya, Chairman of MTXLSMART, added "Alhamdulillah, the Mass Circumcision and Movie Screening events for orphans are going smoothly thanks to the support of many parties. To ensure the success of the Mass Circumcision and Movie Screening program, MTXLSMART hopes that the spirit of togetherness and social care will continue to flourish, inspiring greater kindness and paving the way for similar events in other cities such as Medan, Palembang, Bandung, Banten, Banjarmasin, Surabaya, Makassar, and Jakarta.
The Gebyar Muharram 1447H program under #GebyarBerbagi and #BersamaDiMuharram is funded by zakat and charity donations collected monthly from XLSMART employees and management. These funds are managed by MTXLSMART and allocated to their intended beneficiaries. Aside from this initiative, MTXLSMART has frequently conducted social contribution programs in past years, including the construction of bridges, water sources, energy access, water depots, blood donations, home repairs, road construction, and mosque development in various regions.
