Cikarang, August 22, 2025 – PT XLSMART Telekom Sejahtera (XLSMART), through XLSMART for BUSINESS, is strengthening its position in supporting the expansion of digitalisation processes in Indonesia's manufacturing industry. This time, XLSMART for BUSINESS collaborates with ASTRAtech to unveil its latest 5G based innovation, the Autonomous Drone for Goods Delivery, created specifically to accelerate and simplify logistics distribution processes in the manufacturing sector.

The launch, held at ASTRAtech Campus Cikarang and attended by several representatives from the Astra Group, also marked part of XLSMART for BUSINESS's collaboration with ASTRAtech to establish a digital ecosystem powered by innovative technology. The initiative aims to address an array of real world challenges, including shortages of employees, limited accessibility in distribution routes, and the need for increased time and cost efficiency in operations.

XLSMART Chief Enterprise Business Officer, Feby Sallyanto, stated "The Autonomous Drone solution emphasises XLSMART for BUSINESS's commitment to fostering the growth of Indonesia's digital economy ecosystem, notably in the manufacturing sector. This solution directly addresses common distribution constraints faced by manufacturers, including employment restrictions, delivery route difficulties, and the urgent need for time and cost efficiency."

Feby Sallyanto further added, "By integrating 5G connectivity with autonomous flight technology, we create a smart delivery system that is not only quick and efficient, but also secure and easy to monitor. We believe that our approach will reduce carbon footprints while increasing manufacturing productivity in Indonesia.”

The Autonomous Drone is a digital solution designed specifically for manufacturing industry logistics, where speed and efficiency are critical. Drone deployment has the ability to decrease shipping costs, accelerate inter facility distribution, and extend coverage to areas that are difficult to access by land based transport.

This solution is an Indonesian innovation developed entirely domestically. With a strong Domestic Component Level (TKDN) that adheres to national requirements, it not only accelerates cross industry digital transformation, but also strengthens national technological independence and increases Indonesia's globally competitiveness.

The Autonomous Drone is packed with cutting edge technologies that provide direct value to users:

1. Route management via dashboard. Enables users to plan, monitor, and adjust delivery routes in real time. Centralised control ensures more structured and efficient operations, particularly crucial for inter factory deliveries or shipments to remote distribution centres.
2. Live camera streaming over 5G. Enables real time video monitoring of the items to assure their security throughout passage. Benefits include faster response times in the case of an on field incident and greater visibility across the distribution chain.
3. Fully autonomous flight. Enables the drone to deliver goods outdoors from origin to destination without any requirement of human involvement, saving manpower, fuel, and operational time. This is suitable for manufacturing sectors that rely on regular or high volume delivery.
4. Precision landing with computer vision technology. Ensures accurate recognition of the delivery point and safe landing, ensuring package security and facilitating goods receipt even in congested or restricted space areas.

This AI and IoT-based smart solution was developed by X-CAMP (XLSMART's innovation lab specializing in Artificial Intelligence and Internet of Things solutions for digital transformation across industries), with research support from ASTRAtech and BETA UAS, the drone manufacturer. The solution arose from challenges faced by one of Astra's manufacturing subsidiaries while transferring and mobilising materials throughout production processes. Following development, the solution is now suitable for widespread application across a variety of manufacturing companies.

Henri Paul, Director of ASTRAtech, hopes that the collaboration between ASTRAtech and XLSMART for BUSINESS can continue to grow, presenting smart drone solutions that are relevant to industry needs, not only in the field of manufacturing, but also able to expand according to contextual industry needs, including infrastructure and logistics, construction, agribusiness, heavy equipment and mining, property, and other industries, especially within the Astra Group eco.

The launch of this solution is also inline with Indonesia's National Agenda for Strengthening Industry 4.0 Implementation, in which digitalisation, automation, and connectivity play essential functions in increasing national industrial competitiveness. The Autonomous Drone is expected to serve a crucial role in advancing an adaptive, flexible, and sustainable digital supply chain.

With XLSMART's 5G technology, the solution expands future integration opportunities with Artificial Intelligence (AI) and the Internet of Things (IoT). This will allow drones to serve not only as distribution tools, but also as essential components of a smarter, more connected smart manufacturing ecosystem.
