Supporting the Convenience of Community Mobility XL Axiata Ensures Network Availability along the Jakarta-Bandung High Speed Train Line

XL Axiata will continue to improve network quality as the operation of the high-speed railway gets closer. Customer convenience along the train line is the company's priority. Moreover, the high-speed railway is predicted to be a means of supporting community mobility, which of course also requires comfortable data access while on the train.

Bandung, 1 September 2023.  Indonesia's first high-speed railway transport service, connecting Jakarta and Bandung, will soon be officially operational. This high-speed railway will connect Jakarta and Bandung with a travelling time of 30-45 minutes. PT XL Axiata Tbk (XL Axiata) is committed to providing a network along the route travelled. In addition, XL Axiata also ensures the availability of services at all stopping stations, namely Halim Station in East Jakarta, Karawang Station in Karawang Regency, Padalarang Station in West Bandung to Tegalluar Station in Bandung Regency. 

 

Acting Group Head of Technology Strategy & Assurance of XL Axiata, Tetra Siti Sarah, said, "The Company certainly welcomes the presence of mass transportation facilities that are able to connect Jakarta and Bandung quickly. This high-speed railway is presented to support the high mobility of people in these two big cities. Since the past year, we have also routinely checked the quality of XL Axiata network services along the route and stations travelled. So far, we have confirmed that XL Axiata's network and services are available in most of the routes travelled, including at all stations." 

 

Tetra added, because some of the high-speed railway lines are in rural areas, far from residential areas, and are entirely new lines, XL Axiata still needs to improve the quality of its network at a number of points. XL Axiata will continue to improve network quality as the high-speed railway operations get closer. According to him, customer comfort along the railway line is the company's priority. Moreover, the high-speed railway is predicted to be a means of supporting community mobility, which of course also requires comfortable data access while on the train.  

 

Currently, the entire route of Jakarta-Bandung high-speed railway service has been served by more than 520 4G BTS. XL Axiata's network in the entire province of West Java has more than 28,700 BTS with the majority being 4G BTS. Meanwhile, in DKI Jakarta province alone there are more than 10,200 BTS, with the majority being 4G BTS. 

 

To date, XL Axiata's 4G network has served 58 million customers with service coverage in more than 61 thousand villages, 5,700 districts, and 469 regencies in 38 Indonesian provinces. Supported by more than 150 thousand BTS with the majority of 4G BTS, as well as a fibre optic backbone network that stretches for more than 130 thousand km, supporting data networks spread across most of the vast Indonesian archipelago.
