Jakarta, 2 March 2023. The Mobile World Congress 2023 arena in Barcelona is where PT XL Axiata Tbk (XL Axiata) inaugurated a collaboration with PT Indonesia Comnets Plus (PLN Icon Plus). The collaboration between the two parties is part of an effort to improve services to customers and the community, accelerate and expand access to services including the adoption of new technologies such as 5G, Internet of Things (IoT), and digitization that can drive the community's economy. Through this collaboration, XL Axiata and PLN Icon Plus can use infrastructure and technology solutions that are faster, more efficient and targeted.
The signing of the cooperation between the two parties took place on the sidelines of the Mobile World Congress 2023 arena in Barcelona, Spain, Tuesday (28/1), respectively by Dian Siswarini, President Director & CEO of XL Axiata and Ari Rahmat Indra Cahyadi, President Director of PLN Icon Plus.
Dian Siswarini said, "We see that PLN Icon Plus is very good at serving the community in providing internet access and digitization needs, by utilising its infrastructure which is spread evenly to remote areas of Indonesia. This cooperation between XL Axiata and PLN Icon Plus is an excellent collaboration, which combines the infrastructure of both parties. Thus, this cooperation will be able to serve the needs of the community for digital and cellular access faster and more efficiently."
Ari Rahmat added, currently PLN group with a new spirit, New PLN and also New PLN Icon Plus, opens the widest possible opportunities for collaboration with all parties. PLN Icon Plus cooperation with XL Axiata has been established for a long time, namely in terms of providing inter-city backbone networks and fiberization. Hopefully this MoU will improve the quality of cooperation and at the same time open up other new cooperation opportunities that provide benefits for both parties".
Dian added, through this collaboration, XL Axiata and PLN Icon Plus will combine their infrastructure such as optical fibre, tower/pole, submarine cable and data centre. It also includes cooperation related to IoT, as well as digitization to support operational teams in the field in serving the community.
In addition to digitization to facilitate services to the community. Through XL Axiata Business Solutions, this collaboration can also be utilised by corporate customers to get the best integrated ICT solutions and accelerate business growth.
According to Dian, this cooperation is open in several options that are being finalised based on the needs of both parties, which of course provide maximum benefits for XL Axiata and PLN Icon Plus. Meanwhile, the duration of the cooperation will be valid for 1 year, which is open to extension if needed.
