XL Axiata Supports Customers in Working and Studying from Home by Providing Free Access to Essential Apps

Jakarta, March 17th , 2020. PT XL Axiata Tbk (XL Axiata) launches a special service program that will help customers and the public in general in working and studying from home. This program is part of the company’s support and attention towards the effort of preventing transmission of the Coronavirus (Covid-19) in Indonesia. The program is available to all customers of XL Axiata using XL SIM cards, AXIS, XL PRIORITAS, and also XL Business Solutions corporate customers, starting from Wednesday (18/3). XL Axiata also provides a hotline to the Coronavirus mitigation center in the Ministry of Health.

XL Axiata President Director & CEO, Dian Siswarini, Said, “We took the initiative to join the other elements of the Indonesian society to work together in preventing the spread of the Coronavirus, contributing according to our field of expertise. We understand that the people need data and internet access to study and work productively from home. We made this program as fast as we could. It includes all essential items that are most needed by the people. We will continue monitoring situation development to learn if we could make further contribution."

Through this special program, starting from March 18th  to March 31st , 2020, XL Axiata provides free access of 2GB/day to a number of applications or data services that may help in studying or working from home. More information is available at www.xl.co.id.

The list of applications in this program includes Udemy, Ruang Guru, and Zenius for school and college students. Adding to their convenience while working from home, customers may also utilize the free quota to access a number of Microsoft Office 365 applications.

College students who subscribe to XL Axiata may utilize the free quota to access online study materials provided by their respective campuses. A number of universities have joined the program, including the University of Indonesia, Padjajaran University, Bandung Institute of Technology, Diponegoro University, Atma Jaya Yogyakarta University, Hasanudin University, Semarang State University, Sumatra Institute of Technology, Udayana University, and Gajah Mada University.

XL Axiata also provides free access to official Coronavirus information centers at the Health Ministry website (https://infeksiemerging.kemkes.go.id/) and DKI Jakarta Provincial Administration website (https://corona.jakarta.go.id/) to aid customers who are seeking information. Customers may also contact the COVID-19 hotline via 119, free of charge.

XL Axiata also improves customers’ benefits through certain service products, which may be used to support work and study from home activities. In addition to the benefits mentioned above, XL Prioritas post-paid customers also receive a 15% discount should they feel like upgrading by purchasing a bigger data plan or data and voice booster. XL Prioritas also offers a bigger data plan of up to 100 GB/ month with portable WiFi modem (MiFi). By using this data plan, customers may conveniently work or study from home using multiple devices connected simultaneously to the modem. Also, with the XL Go Izi Mifi plan, customers receive a bonus data quota of 10 GB for all renewal plans, which may be used towards spending time with useful content, while maintaining social distancing.

All XL Axiata customers can easily access E-LEARN educational service at elearn.id. Established in 2014, E-Learn was created by XL Axiata as part of the XL Future Leaders program. E-Learn has now become the one and only online course platform where the younger generation in Indonesia may acquire additional soft skills in a free and fun way, directly from the experts. E-Learn employs blended learning system utilizing interactive videos as well as reading materials.
