XL Axiata Continues to Supports Prevention of Covid-19 Spreading By Extending The Free Daily 2GB Data Quota Opening Donations Through SMS Services and Distributes Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) & Hazmat Suits

Jakarta, April 15th 2020. PT XL Axiata Tbk (XL Axiata) continues cooperation to prevent the spread of Covid-19 in Indonesia. In addition to extending the application of the free daily 2GB data access program, XL Axiata has also distributed thousands of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) in the form of hazardous material protection suits for medical workers at dozens of hospitals in various regions. This social action is able to be carried out due to the full support of the employees, where the funds for the procurement of hazmat suits was obtained from the donations of XL Axiata employees.

 

President Director & CEO of XL Axiata, Dian Siswarini said, “The XL Axiata management decided to continue the free daily 2GB (data) program that has been running since March 18th 2020. This second extension will be valid until April 30th 2020, with an option to which it can be extended further to adjust with government policies regarding the period of social restrictions and the development of the current situations and conditions. So, if combined with the period of a month and a half since March 18th, the total quota (data) allocated by XL Axiata is 88GB for each customer that needs support to work and learn from home.”

 

All XL Axiata customers, whether using XL, AXIS, XL PRIORITAS cards, including XL Business Solutions corporate customers and XL HOME Wireless home internet users can take advantage of the daily free 2GB data access by activating it through the myXL, myXL Postpaid, or Axisnet applications. The daily free 2GB quota can be used by customers to access a number of applications or data services that can help studies or work from home.

 

These applications include Udemy, Ruang Guru, Zenius, Kelas Pintar, and Sekolah.mu for students. The Rumah Belajar portal, owned by the Ministry of Education and Cultural Relations ( https://belajar.kemdikbud.go.id/ ) can also be accessed for free through this program. Free daily data quota of 2GB can also be used by student subscribers to access lecture materials in over 30 universities/campus across various provinces in Indonesia.

 

Also, to support working activities from home more comfortably, customers can use this program to access a number of applications from Microsoft Office 365 which include, Microsoft Exchange, Share Point, One Drive, Microsoft Teams, and Skype for Business. Customers could also take advantage of the daily free 2GB quota (data) to access the official portal of the Covid-19 Acceleration Task Force (https://www.covid19.go.id/), and the Covid-19 information channel of the Ministry of Health (https://infeksiemerging.kemkes.go.id/) and the official website of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government (https://corona.jakarta.go.id/). Also, customers could contact Covid-19 hotline numbers for free, namely 112, 117, and 119. They are also eligible to receive additional benefits of educational information relating to Covid-19 prevention through SMS (text messages) from official Covid-19 focused sources. In addition, to support online shopping needs during this physical distancing period, starting April 20th 2020, customers can take advantage of programs to access a number of e-commerce platforms and services, such as Tokopedia, Shopee, Blibli, JD.id, Lazada and OVO.

 

SMS Donation Services For Customers

 

Meanwhile, as an effort to foster a sense of community cooperation in supporting the handling of the Covid-19 outbreak in Indonesia, XL Axiata invites customers to donate pulsa (phone credit) through the SMS Donation service. This SMS Donation service is open from the beginning of April to April 30th 2020.

 

To donate pulsa (phone credit) is very easy, XL and AXIS prepaid customers can simply send an SMS with the donation format <space> COVID19 <space> nominal of pulsa, then send to 6116. In addition to SMS, you can also call *123*6116#, select the XLBerbagi_COVID-19 option and enter the nominal of credit customers wish to donate. Donation amounts start from 1,000 to 200,000 (IDR). The donations collected from the customer credit donations will be channeled to help Indonesian medical workers that are struggling at the forefront against Covid-19.

 

The Donations of Thousands of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and Hazmat Suits

Furthermore, XL Axiata's support to fight Covid-19 has also been proven in the form of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) and hazmat suits for medical workers at several hospitals in Jakarta. In total, around 8,000 sets of hazmat suits that have been distributed to around 10 hospitals since April 9th 2020.

 

Dian added, “The donation of Hazmat suits is part of the overall donation program that we delivered last week to BNPB, with a total value of over 10.8 billion (IDR), including employee contributions and XL Axiata's support that accumulated to 800 million (IDR). As of now, we have gradually distributed Personal Protecton Equipment (PPE) to 10 hospitals that are handling Covid-19 cases in the Jakarta area including RSPI Sulianti Saroso, RSUP Persahabatan, RSUD Tarakan, RSUD Pasar Minggu, RSKD Duren Sawit, RSAL Mintohardjo, RSUP Fatmawati, RSU Polri, RS Pelni dan RSPAD Gatot Subroto.”

 

In addition to the hazmat suits, XL Axiata has also distributed donations for the prevention and handling of the Covid-19 pandemic in the form of cash amounting to 5 billion (IDR) to the Indonesian Mosque Council (DMI) and 5 billion (IDR) cash donation to the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI). Distribution to the two social institutions is also based on the direction from BNPB, considering that both have a very strategic position in the prevention and handling management of the Covid-19 outbreak. The donation was made on April 8th 2020, represented by I Gede Darmayusa, Acting Chief Technology Officer of XL Axiata, to the head of BNPB.

 

Donations to the Indonesian Mosque Council will mainly be used to help with the funeral process for victims of the Covid-19 pandemic throughout Indonesia. Meanwhile, PMI became one of the institutions that also spearheaded the field by disinfecting and also handling the victims of Covid-19.
