Strengthening the 4G network is being carried out in line with the increasing number of international events taking place on the largest lake in Indonesia. One of them is the F1 Powerboat world championship (F1 H20) which will take place February 24-26, 2023.

In the area around Lake Toba, including Samosir Island, XL Axiata's 4G network has reached 489 villages and 35 districts, which are in Simalungun Regency, Toba Samosir Regency, North Tapanuli Regency, Humbang Hasunduta Regency, Dairi Regency, Karo Regency, and Samosir Regency. In total there are around 430 4G BTS serving customers in all these areas. In particular, XL Axiata also deployed 2 mobile BTS units.
The F1 Powerboat is the Formula 1 (F1) Powerboat World Championship, organized by Union Internationale Motonautique and sponsored by the H20. F1 Powerboat is an international motorboat racing event, also often called F1H20. This world-class super-fast boat racing event will be held on 24-26 February 2023 on Lake Toba, North Sumatra. It is targeted that the Lake Toba F1 Powerboat event can bring in up to 25 thousand tourists, both local and foreign.
