Surabaya, April 4, 2024. Employees of PT XL Axiata Tbk (XL Axiata), through the XL Axiata Ta'lim Council (MTXL Axiata) organized the "Semarak Ramadan" program across various cities in Indonesia. They shopped for Eid clothes and aided needy orphans in Surabaya, Bandung, and Palembang since last week.
Yanuar Tirta Kumaya, Chairman of MTXL Axiata, stated, "MTXL Axiata is committed to further enhance its societal impact through practical and enduring initiatives. One of the ongoing efforts is the "Semarak Ramadan" program, which distributes packages and Eid attire in alignment with the celebration of Eid al-Fitr 1445H. Over 100 individuals across three Indonesian cities will benefit from this endeavor. Hopefully this activity foster happiness and prosperity within the community.”
Yanuar mentioned that through this initiative, XL Axiata employees will not only be dedicated to their professional roles but also actively engage in societal contributions. Management aims to foster a culture where employees are mindful of the environment and strive to enhance the well-being of Indonesian society, fostering a #jadilebihbaik (better) community.
In Surabaya, MTXL Axiata has partnered with Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Arrosyad, an institution supporting orphaned and underprivileged students. Approximately 20 such students were invited by MTXL Axiata to shop for Eid attire at a mall in Sidoarjo. Similarly, in Bandung, this endeavor was conducted in collaboration with the Al Fitrah Tholibin Foundation, facilitating school supplies shopping for orphans and distributing essential food aids. Meanwhile, in Palembang, MTXL Axiata joined forces with the Al-Quran Al Ikhlas Palembang Education Park to offer assistance with school supplies.
The funding for the "Semarak Ramadan" program originates from the accumulation of voluntary contributions and charitable donations from both XL Axiata's management and employees. These contributions are systematically collected on a monthly basis and administered by MTXL Axiata to support those in need.
In addition to initiatives aimed at assisting impoverished orphans, MTXL Axiata frequently organizes community outreach activities that have been implemented in past years to aid diverse regions. These activities encompass a range of endeavors, including the construction of bridges, water and electricity infrastructure, establishment of water depots, blood donation drives, housing renovations, road construction, bridge building, and even mosque construction.
