Medan, 6 March 2023. PT XL Axiata Tbk (XL Axiata) received a visit from 30 students participating in the Industrial Engineering Fair (IE-FAIR) 2023 programme from various regions in Indonesia. This activity is part of an international scientific work competition themed "Digitization in Developing Business and Industries". They visited a number of companies and implemented the knowledge gained. A number of XL Axiata West Region leaders welcomed their visit to Grha XL Medan, Monday (6/3), including Head of Trade and Channel of XL Axiata West Region, Aldian Garilbaldi, Region Operation of XL Axiata West Region, Budianto Sinurat, and Home Regional Sales Manager West, Irwan Panggabean. Also present during the visit was the Head of USU Industrial Engineering Department, Ir. Aulia Ishak, ST, MT, PhD, IPM.
Group Head of XL Axiata West Region, Desy Sari Dewi said, "We are very pleased to be one of the business institutions visited by the students participating in the Industrial Engineering Fair (IE-FAIR) 2023. We are also happy to share our knowledge with them about how we provide telecommunication and data services to the people of Indonesia, including the challenges we face. Hopefully, our presentation will be useful and inspiring for them."
Desy added, XL Axiata itself has a strong commitment to support the quality of education of Indonesia's young generation. XL Axiata has a programme for students, XL Axiata Future Leaders and learning platform elearn.id. In addition, every year XL Axiata also organises Mahasiswa Kampus Merdeka internship program, which is attended by more than 100 students from various universities.
The visit was designed to be interactive, with students getting the opportunity to ask questions and discuss with the speakers who have a lot of experience. After listening to the speakers, the students had the opportunity to visit the customer service unit at XL Center Medan to see and ask questions about the activities carried out there.
IE-FAIR 2023 is an annual event of the Industrial Engineering Student Association (HIMTI). This event is organised with the aim of sharing knowledge and enriching the scientific insights of Industrial Engineering. IE-FAIR has been running for 9 years. In the IE-FAIR 2023 event, XL Axiata through X-Camp is trusted to be a judge and presenter in the IE-FAIR 2023 National Seminar, on 8-9 March 2023 at the University of North Sumatra, Medan. Present as a representative of X-Camp, namely New Ventures & Technology Incubation of XL Axiata, Varid Airlangga.
