As many as 147 students from 122 Islamic boarding schools spread across East Java participate in the Digital Islamic Boarding School training held by XL Axiata. This training will lead students to become agents of change as well as digital activists and educators who will guide rural communities and Muslims in entering the digital era.

Surabaya, 19 December 2022. PT XL Axiata Tbk (XL Axiata) launched the Digital Islamic Boarding School program. Through this program, students will receive digital training, especially in content creation and website design. This new program was first to run in the East Java area and will be subsequently implemented in other provinces. Regional Group Head of XL Axiata for the East Region, Dodik Ariyanto inaugurated the start of the digital training, which will take place from December 19 to December 30, 2022, online from Surabaya on Thursday (19/12).

Regional Group Head of XL Axiata for the East Region, Dodik Ariyanto said, "The Digital Islamic Boarding School program is a form of XL Axiata's commitment to participate in the success of government programs in equalizing and increasing the digital literacy of students towards the Society 5.0 era. As many as 147 students will participate in this training. They come from 122 Islamic boarding schools spread across East Java. We hope this program will provide the widest possible opportunity for students to contribute to the process of increasing digital literacy of the community through creating useful digital content both related to the world of Islamic boarding schools and general themes that the community needs to know."

Dodik believes that such training as this Digital Islamic Boarding School will be able to prepare students to become agents of change as well as digital movers and educators who are beneficial to society. They will not only be consumers or users of digital facilities but also creators of digital content that can guide rural communities and Muslims in entering the era of digitalization in various fields of life.

According to Dodik, the Digital Islamic Boarding School program is a continuation of the laptop donation program that XL Axiata has implemented throughout the previous two years. East Java became the pioneer province for this program, which is then gradually expected to run nationally. YouTube Principal, Content Planning, Content Execution, Content Editing, Content Review, Optimizing YouTube Channel and YouTube On Air, Website Introduction, and Website Building are among the training materials. This training program collaborates with benihbaik.com, ngalup.co, and TV9.

In total, 147 students participate in this Digital Islamic Boarding School training. This training will run in three batches, with a duration of about two weeks of online training. The students will receive mentoring from expert instructors and practitioners of content creation and website design. Each day of training will be held for two hours of learning. At the end of the learning, there will be assignments to implement all the material provided.

Previously, XL Axiata had implemented a laptop donation program for Islamic boarding schools in various parts of Indonesia. A total of 39 Islamic boarding schools have received dozens of laptops in addition to 4G fast internet connection facilities and data quota packages. This program expects the Islamic boarding schools that receive donations to become the driving force of digitalization and improve the quality of human resources in the Islamic boarding schools. This program has provided internet access for around 50 thousand students, which they can use to support learning and teaching activities in Islamic boarding schools and the surrounding community, as well as develop positive and productive digital skills.
