Bandung, 6 April 2023. PT XL Axiata Tbk (XL Axiata)'s data network throughout West Java is ready to face the surge in data traffic ahead of Eid ul-Fitr exodus. During the Eid ul-Fitr exodus flow, XL Axiata is ready to serve all customers in the province, including travellers who will arrive in the near future. XL Axiata's total 4G network in West Java has reached more than 4,100 rural/urban villages, more than 420 districts and 19 cities/regencies.

Acting Group Head of XL Axiata for West Java area, Arif Farhan Budiyanto, said, "Just like in previous years, we expect the demand for data services to increase rapidly. This happens almost evenly in all cities and regencies spread across West Java province. In addition to increasing capacity, we also optimise the network by looking at the mobility patterns of customers and the public during the Eid ul-Fitr holiday period which is not far away. The company has also ensured the availability of selected superior products in all distribution channels, especially in credits shops that are easily accessible to the public."

Arif added, routinely, the company continues to improve service quality in all cities and regencies spread across these two provinces. XL Axiata estimates that a significant increase will still occur in Kuningan Regency up to 69%, Pangandaran Regency 59%, Ciamis Regency 50%, Tasikmalaya Regency 49% and Majalengka Regency 47%. To ensure the network's ability to accommodate traffic spikes later, we have prepared a number of strategic steps, including through additional capacity compared to normal days, to the application of new technology. XL Axiata also adjusts to the trend of service usage, especially data services, homecoming traditions, and customer movements during the long Eid ul-Fitr holidays.

By the end of December 2022, there were more than 26,900 BTS in total across West Java, with the majority being 4G BTS. New network construction and fiberization will continue throughout 2023 and beyond. In the last two years, XL Axiata's 4G BTS additions in various parts of West Java have reached more than 7,000 BTS, including more than 620 BTS in Bandung Regency, as well as around 460 BTS in West Bandung Regency and Garut Regency. This addition is certainly adjusted to the high data demand that continues to increase in the area.

Some points that are expected to experience an increase in data service usage traffic during the Eid ul-Fitr holidays are Bandung City and Regency and its surroundings, Bogor, Depok, Bekasi, Garut, Cirebon, Subang, Indramayu, Puncak area, Lembang up to Pangandaran Beach. For crowd centres, there will be an increase in worship centres such as a number of grand mosques in several cities, shopping centres, city/town squares, bus terminals, train stations, airports, and along toll and non-toll roads that connect West Java and other major provinces.

XL Axiata customers will use a variety of data services, especially social media to share content. Customers will also access more streaming services for video, music, and games, which require large capacity. Streaming services include Youtube, Vidio and Spotify. Meanwhile, the messaging application is Whatsapp.
