Pamekasan, 10 November 2023. PT XL Axiata Tbk (XL Axiata) always ensures network quality in Madura. This must be done because, on the Salt Island, XL Axiata has the largest market share, with total customers reaching 1 million, spread across almost 500 villages, 65 districts, and four regencies. Apart from customers continuing to increase, traffic using XL Axiata services also continues to increase. In the last two years, traffic has increased by 83%. XL Axiata has also provided XL SATU Fiber services in Madura.
Director & Chief Technology Officer of XL Axiata, I Gede Darmayusa said, "Madura is one of the areas where XL Axiata has the most customers. To maintain people's comfort and loyalty to XL Axiata, we continue to ensure network quality throughout Madura. Of course, we want to always be able to meet customer needs, especially now that telecommunications and data services have become the main means for people to access various digital services. Network quality throughout Madura is supported by more than 2,800 BTS, the majority of which are 4G BTS.
Gede took the time to conduct a field visit to see firsthand the condition of the infrastructure in several locations in Madura. One of the locations visited was the BTS tower in Murtajih Village, Pademawu District, Pamekasan Regency, Friday (10/11). He also took the time to chat with the XL Axiata Region East Group Head, Dodik Ariyanto, and technicians. Not to forget, Gede also visited several retail outlets to get input from managers and customers.
In ensuring network quality in Madura, XL Axiata also continues to build new networks in various areas, both to strengthen existing networks and to expand into new areas. Several new network construction locations include Modung, Galis, Blega, and Burneh districts, which are in Bangkalan Regency, then Ketapang and Torjun Districts, which are in Sampang Regency, as well as Camplong District, Pamekasan Regency, and Ganding District, Sumenep Regency. Apart from the main island, the XL Axiata network also reaches several small islands around Madura, including Mandangin Island which is part of Sampang Regency, Giliraja Island, Giligenting Island, Poteran Island, Gili Iyang Island, Sapudi Island, Raas Island, Guwa-guwa Island, and Kangean Island which is part of Sumenep Regency.
Apart from building the network, XL Axiata is also strengthening the network by increasing network capacity and fiberization. In the last two years, network capacity has been increased by 2-3x. Apart from that, BTS network fiberization is also continuing throughout Madura and has now reached more than 60% of BTS. Fiberization is an effort to modernize the network by connecting BTS via fiber lines, including regenerating BTS devices. An example is changing devices that currently use microwaves to become fiber devices.
Since early November 2023, the Fixed Mobile Convergence (FMC) network has also entered Madura, with the XL SATU Fiber service. In this initial stage, the FMC network has directly entered three regencies, namely Sampang, Pamekasan, and Sumenep, with the number of homepasses adjusted to needs, and the hope is that by the end of the year, it will reach around 70,000 homepasses. The Madurese community's response to this service is also very good. To date, hundreds of customers have been served. In general, the advantage of the XL SATU Fiber service compared to similar services is that XL SATU Fiber converges home internet services and mobile phone quotas for families using XL and XL Prioritas in one practical package.
Currently, there is a product promo available that can be used by customers and the public on the island of Madura to access data services on the 4G network, namely the Xtra Combo Flex Package from XL products which offers not only a fairly large internet quota but also freedom to choose what bonuses customers prefer, such as main quota bonuses, subscribing to Vidio or Social Media applications. Then AXIS products, specifically Madura, have a package that is quite cheap, starting from 20 thousand and you can get a 10GB quota. Every customer who buys an AXIS starter card will get a non-stop bonus throughout the year.
