AXIS Supports Vaccination of School and College Students in Pontianak

Pontianak, 25 September 2021. PT XL Axiata Tbk (XL Axiata) is committed to continuing to support the government's efforts to fight the Covid-19 pandemic in Indonesia. This time, through AXIS, XL Axiata supports the vaccination program for school and college students, which was held at the IAIN Pontianak Campus, Wednesday (22/9). This program is targeted to be able to inject vaccines to more than 3,000 participants. The Governor of West Kalimantan, Ria Norsan, the Mayor of Pontianak, Edi Rusdi Kamtono and the Head of the West Kalimantan Police, Inspector General of Police Sigit Tri Hardjanto took the time to attend to review the vaccination activities.

 

XL Axiata's Head of Sales for the West, East and North Kalimantan areas, Maryadi said, "The support for the implementation of this vaccination activity is a form of our commitment to support the acceleration of Covid-19 vaccination in West Kalimantan. AXIS is a product that targets young people, with the majority of users are school and college students. Our support for this vaccination program is also our concern to protect young people so that they can immediately get protection from the pandemic.”

 

Maryadi added, AXIS hopes that with the acceleration of vaccination for young people, it will be faster for young people to be productive, creative and achieve achievements. According to him, the pandemic should not hamper the creativity of young people. On this occasion, we also urge all vaccine participants to continue to comply with health protocols so that activities can run in an orderly and smooth manner.

 

The vaccination program in Pontianak also received full support from the West Kalimantan Provincial Government, Pontianak City Government, and the West Kalimantan Regional Police. Appreciation is given by the local government because this vaccination activity is carried out with strict health protocols and is part of the acceleration of the vaccination program launched by the government to achieve herd immunity in Indonesia.

 

Still in support of vaccination activities, after being held in Pontianak City, AXIS also supported vaccination activities which were held in Jakarta on Saturday (25/9), in collaboration with SMA 8 Jakarta Alumni with a vaccine target of around 3,000 people. Previously, the same activity had also been carried out in two cities, namely Bandung City, West Java which was held at the ITB Campus and Muhammadyah University as well as in Banjarmasin City, South Kalimantan at Lambung Mangkurat University and Banjarmasin Cathedral Church which had succeeded in providing vaccines to around 7,200 people. Support for this program will continue to be carried out in other cities both in Java and outside Java in an effort to help accelerate the vaccination program in Indonesia.

 

Meanwhile, for four months from March 22 to July 23, 2021, XL Axiata collaborated with RSUI, Depok City Government, and ILUNI to successfully organize the program of “Indonesia Bangkit” Vaccination Center (Sentra Vaksinasi Indonesia Bangkit/SVIB) for the general public. Continuing the acceleration of the vaccination program in Depok City, XL Axiata again held SVIB in Medan City, North Sumatra for the general public in Medan City and its surroundings since Wednesday, September 8, 2021 and will continue for the next two months.
