Jakarta, 2 August 2023. PT XL Axiata Tbk (XL Axiata) is organising the largest futsal tournament in Indonesia for high school students throughout Indonesia "AXIS Nation Cup 2023". Providing a total prize of IDR 270 million, the tournament will be participated by 1,200 schools from 30 cities across Indonesia. Through this tournament, XL Axiata hopes to contribute to spurring sports achievements among students, while strengthening AXIS' brand positioning in the youth segment. The tournament will take place from 11 August 2023 and will end on 15 October 2023.
Chief Marketing Officer of XL Axiata, Alfons Bosch Sansa said, "Students in Indonesia have tremendous potential, one of which is in the field of sports. Futsal is one of the most popular sports among students, especially high school students. We see tremendous potential if AXIS can provide facilities that can spur their achievements. That's why we are holding this tournament, hopefully from here, futsal athletes will be born in Indonesia".
Alfons further added that AXIS is an XL Axiata brand that is synonymous with young people. Through AXIS, XL Axiata endeavours to pursue the student market, which is one of the long-term potential segments. To date, AXIS users continue to grow 14% in the first semester of 2023 compared to the previous year.
In this event, AXIS collaborated with Cicio Manassero and Shafira Ika Putri starting from the talent hunting process, coaching clinic and fun match. The participation of these two public figures is expected to encourage the participants to show their best talents.

The winners of the tournament will receive a total prize of IDR 270 million, which includes cash prizes and the opportunity to attend a football camp program at Bali United Training Camp Foundation in Denpasar.
AXIS Nation Cup 2023 is divided into three phases. The first phase is the preliminary, where all schools will compete for the initial preliminary round. The next phase is the regional qualification which will take place in Palembang, Solo, Banjarmasin, Denpasar and Makassar, in this phase the schools representing each region will compete for the quarter-finals. And the last phase is the quarter-finals, where schools will compete for the winner.
The final phase of the AXIS Nation Cup will take place on 15 October 2023 at Istora Senayan, Jakarta. In addition to the futsal matches, AXIS also involves public figures and musicians to enliven the matches. The tournament is open for the general public to watch. In fact, spectators who will be present from the preliminary to the final, have the opportunity to get a surprise from AXIS in the form of a quota package of up to 2GB / day for 365 days.
