Jakarta, August 20th 2021 - PT XL Axiata Tbk (XL Axiata) has established a strategic partnership with Grab and Tokopedia to improve the quality of service to subscribers and at the same time encourage sales. This collaboration with two leading technology companies in Indonesia is a step taken by XL Axiata to adapt to people's shopping trends through digital channels. In this collaboration, both of them will act as modern channel master aggregators that will support the expansion and development of XL Axiata product sales distribution to all distribution channels under each, so that it is also expected to increase customer acquisition. This collaboration is effective starting July 2021. This collaboration also completes a series of celebrations for XL Axiata entering the 25th Anniversary in an effort to Build a Digital Indonesia.

Director & Chief Commercial Officer – Consumer of XL Axiata, David Arcelus Oses said, "This collaboration with two large digital technology-based companies in Indonesia is very strategic and promising for XL Axiata's business development. Grab and Tokopedia provide very complete ecosystems, which can create various conveniences for subscribers in obtaining XL Axiata products, as well as being able to encourage sales. We hope that this collaboration will eventually increase exponential growth in XL Axiata's market share.”

David continued, as partners, Grab and Tokopedia also share a common vision to jointly take advantage of the increasing trend of online shopping in Indonesia. This trend is driven, among other things, by the situation and conditions where the Covid-19 virus is still endemic and forces the wider community to carry out productive activities and fulfil their daily needs without leaving the house. Through this collaboration, Grab and Tokopedia will help distribute XL Axiata products, including data packages and starter packs, through all their modern channel business partners, including financial technology and startups, logistics, area expansion, B2B partners, merchants, up to driver partners.

Kertapradana Subagus, Director of Partnership & Business Development, Grab Indonesia said, “Grab is committed to providing services and products that can simplify people's daily activities. Digital products have become one of the necessities in line with the trend of online activity that continues to increase in the midst of a pandemic. Through this collaboration, Grab can expand the offering of various XL Axiata digital products into our ecosystem, from driver partners, merchant partners, agents, to consumers. We hope that this collaboration can make it easier for people to access various digital products and help develop the country's digital economy."

Grab has presented Digital Products as part of Grab for Business which was previously known as Grab Digital Business. This service has been around for more than 3 years to serve the Grab ecosystem in Southeast Asia and reaches 500 cities in Indonesia. As a digital aggregator, this service distributes and provides various digital products for companies such as credits, data packages, bill payments, driver-partner vouchers, game vouchers, and Grab Gifts vouchers with a Single Application Programming Interface (API) connection.

As a modern channel master aggregator for XL Axiata, now companies can integrate XL Axiata products directly in addition to the various digital products already available on Grab for Business. Grab also provides customer support that is available 24 hours a week to serve companies and individual business actors who use this service.

Meanwhile, Head of Digital Goods of Tokopedia, Katherina Tjin, said, "This partnership between Tokopedia and XL Axiata is in line with our commitment as an Indonesian technology company for #SelaluAdaSelalubisa to help people meet their daily needs, including digital products from XL Axiata, anywhere any time. In addition, this partnership is also expected to make it easier for all strategic partners in the Tokopedia ecosystem to distribute digital products through an integrated mechanism that is safe and easy as well as being the key in dealing with the pandemic while contributing to the recovery of the Indonesian economy.”

As a modern channel master aggregator for XL Axiata, Tokopedia offers a secure and easy-to-integrate mechanism with a stable and ISO-certified system and competitive prices. On the other hand, Tokopedia has also provided 42 digital products to simplify the lives of more than 100 million Indonesians every month. These various Tokopedia products and services have also succeeded in reaching more than 99% of districts in Indonesia.

This collaboration will also provide more benefits to subscribers. With a very strong ecosystem in Indonesia, Grab and Tokopedia will facilitate the public and XL Axiata subscribers to obtain XL Axiata products at all partners and their ecosystems. In the future, there will be new features in this collaboration that will make it easier for every subscriber to get promo offers that have been tailored to the profile and needs of each customer. Subscribers simply click or select the promo and make a payment. This form of offer will only exist exclusively on Tokopedia and Grab channels.

Currently, XL Axiata has more than 56 million subscribers, supported by more than 156 thousand BTS, including more than 65 thousand 4G BTS.
