For the second time now, we are celebrating Eid al-Fitr or Lebaran in an atmosphere surrounded by concern due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Again, we are left to celebrate without being able to visit relatives. In fact, many have even been separated from their families and parents. There are also no reunions with school classmates, while the various Lebaran dishes and Eid cakes must be enjoyed in the comforts of our own home.

Even so, I invite us all to remain grateful for the blessings that Allah SWT has given us. We must be grateful for being able to complete the fasting month of Ramadan smoothly. Even today, to this second, many of us still receive gifts from Him in the form of health and strength in the midst of a pandemic that continue to loom wherever we go.

I believe, despite many difficulties, there are always lessons to take away. For this reason, I encourage us to always think positively so that the pandemic does not become a barrier that stops us from creating, working and being productive. So that we can still do good for ourselves, our families and communities, and even take a role in helping the country overcome the pandemic. We can therefore interpret the situation and conditions of this pandemic as a challenge that tests our struggle and strive in achieving the values of goodness and success.

We must also not let this pandemic become a barrier for us to continue to keep in touch with relatives, friends, neighbors and other acquaintances through the utilization of telecommunication technologies - video calls and video conferencing. We have long since carefully prepared telecommunication and data networks to support the comfort of the community during this Eid. These preparations include, among others, increasing network capacity up to 2x compared to normal conditions, optimization in residential areas and tourist destinations, and so on. Although there is a ban on home-bound travel, service traffic is still expected to increase similar to last year’s Eid. We estimate traffic will rise by around 20% on data services, which is due to the increased use of video/music streaming services, instant messengers, games and social media.

The management of XL Axiata has also made every effort to continue to maintain the health and safety of every employee and customer. This is not only limited to implementing strict health protocols, holding free Covid-19 tests, vaccinations, or disinfecting every room in our offices and service counters, but also encouraging employee productivity through various work programs. It is important for us to maintain the spirit of work, both so that our company can continue to find the best solutions in order to face existing challenges, and also so that we can maintain excellence in our customer service.

Finally, on behalf of the management and employees at XL Axiata, I wish you a Happy and Blessed Eid Al-Fitr 1442 H. Mohon maaf lahir dan bathin. May Allah SWT always protect us all to become #BetterTogether (#BersamaJadiLebihBaik). Amen.
