Welcoming the 78th Post and Telecommunication Service Day 2023 with Blood Donation at XL Axiata Tower

Jakarta, 5 August 2023. Welcoming the 78th Post and Telecommunications Service Day, celebrated on September 27, 2023, ATSI (Indonesian Telecommunication Providers Association), in collaboration with the South Jakarta Unit of the Indonesian Red Cross Society (PMI), held a blood donation event at XL Axiata Tower on Monday (4/9). This activity was intended to strengthen ties and improve relations between members of the postal, telecommunications, and broadcasting communities, including regulators, which have been well established so far.

 

Present at this event were Expert Staff of the Minister for Social, Economic, and Cultural Affairs of the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology, Wijaya Kusumawardhana; Director of Resource Management, Directorate General of SDPPI, Ministry of Communication and Information Technology, Dr. Denny Setiawan, ST, MT; Chairman of APJII, Muhammad Arif; Representative of PMI DKI Jakarta, Isac Kharist; Director & Chief Enterprise Business & Corporate Affairs Officer of XL Axiata, Yessie D Yosetya; Chief Legal & Regulatory Officer of IOH, Reski Damayanti; and Vice Chairman of ATSI, Merza Fachys

 

Director & Chief Enterprise Business & Corporate Affairs Officer of XL Axiata, Yessie D. Yosetya, said, "Thank you for your trust in making XL Axiata the host of the 78th Post and Telecommunications Service Day activities in the form of blood donation. Blood donation will also be a means to maintain donor health. This activity is also a way for us to establish friendships with all members and carry out social action to help the surrounding community. This activity becomes a routine every year with the South Jakarta Unit of the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI).

 

Deputy Chairman of ATSI, Merza Fachys, said, "Post and Telecommunications Service Day is a moment to stay in touch through various activities, including humanitarian activities through blood donation. This blood donation activity is a form of social awareness of the postal, telecommunications, and broadcasting communities in helping others. A little blood that we can donate will give great hope and help many people in need."

 

A total of 249 people registered and 206 blood bags were collected from the donors. The blood collected will be donated to the community through PMI.

 

There are many benefits of blood donation for donors. Among the benefits of blood donation are reducing the risk of heart and blood vessel disease, reducing the risk of cancer, helping to lose weight, detecting critical diseases, and helping to be psychologically healthier.

 

Post and Telecommunications Service Day is commemorated annually on September 27 by the Communication and Informatics Community, consisting of several government agencies, telecommunications service providers, media, and other telecommunications activists, as a commemoration of the historical event of the takeover of Jawatan PTT from Japanese rule by the Young Post Telegraph and Telephone Force in Bandung on September 27, 1945.
