Also in attendance was the rector of UI , Prof. Ari Kuncoro, S.E., M.A., Ph.D, President Director of RSUI, dr. Astuti Giantini, Sp.PK, MPH, as well as the President Director & CEO of XL Axiata, Dian Siswarini.

The Minister of Communications and Informatics (Menkominfo) Johnny G Plate, said, “The government appreciates the support provided by members of the public and the private sector for providing and organizing vaccine centers in the community, which allows the government to accelerate the vaccination process evenly. In particular, I would like to express my appreciation to XL Axiata, UI and RSUI, as well as all parties who have joined in supporting the implementation of this Sentra Vaksin Indonesia Bangkit. I hope that the support that has been given by various private sectors can inspire other companies to join in opening vaccination centers across various regions.”

The President Director & CEO of XL Axiata, Dian Siswarini, said, “Every day we, the management of XL Axiata, participate in monitoring the vaccination run at RSUI, including coordinating with friends and colleagues at RSUI, to ensure this program runs as optimally as possible. So far the vaccination process has been running as smoothly and as well as we expected. In order for the vaccinations to continue to be evenly distributed in Depok, we hope that more and more Depok residents will take advantage of this vaccination facility. On behalf of XL Axiata, I also express my gratitude to all parties who have supported the implementation of this vaccination program, and especially to the Ministry of Health, Ministry of Communications and Informatics, the Provincial Government of West Java, and the Depok City Government.”

According to Dian, the Sentra Vaksin Indonesia Bangkit in Depok that has been coordinated by XL Axiata serves as the first of its kind that is held in accordance with the direction of the Ministry of Health and the Provincial Government of West Java. The West Java region is a focal area for vaccine distributions considering that West Java serves as a buffer zone for the capital city.

Opened since March 23, 2021, the Sentra Vaksin Indonesia Bangkit will be held for two months, located at the UI Hospital (RSUI) Parking Building in Depok. The vaccination process is carried out on a drive thru system under the supervision of the Ministry of Health and other authorized institutions. In one day, 500-1,000 people can be vaccinated. The provided drive thru lane can accommodate up to 1,000 cars.

Residents who wish to be vaccinated are required to register online through the webpage www.xlaxiata.co.id/indonesiabangkit by completing the validation process of personal data and verification of health conditions for potential vaccine recipients. Prior to the injection of the vaccine, participants will undergo a physical health check, which will be carried out according to RSUI health standards. The Sentra Vaksin Indonesia Bangkit operates Monday-Friday (excluding public holidays), from 08.00 WIB to 16.00 WIB every day (maximum arrival at 15.00).

As organizers, XL Axiata and RSUI have prepared the vaccination process to be as efficient as possible, starting from registration to the observation stage. Arriving at the location, residents receiving the vaccine will go through a series of stages. First, at the verification post on the 2nd floor, proof of registration and an official ID card proving Depok residency/a Depok domicile certificate will be checked. Then, recipients are required to validate registration data at table 1. After that, at table 2 on the 3rd floor, health workers will screen recipients’ health condition by asking a series of questions, measuring blood pressure and checking body temperature.

If the potential recipient’s health is stated to be in good condition, then the recipient can receive the vaccine on the 3rd floor. If not, the potential recipient will be advised to rest first for 15-30 minutes in the waiting area. After that, recipients will be directed to table 4 on the 4th floor to rest and be observed by health workers for 30 minutes, during which their blood pressure and body temperature will be re-checked to determine whether there is a Post-Immunization Follow-up Event (Kejadian Ikutan Pasca Imunisasi or KIPI). If it has been determined as safe, then the vaccination process is considered complete. The total duration of the vaccination process is approximately 1 hour.

To ensure its smooth implementation, this vaccination center receives the support of more than 130 volunteers, including doctors, nurses, security officers and administrators. They consist of members of the UI Alumni Association, XL Axiata employees and RSUI medical personnel. These volunteers are assigned with handling various tasks in order to ensure the vaccination process runs smoothly, starting with providing explanations and relevant information about the vaccines and the vaccination process, ensuring safety, directing recipients to the appropriate locations, and arranging the queue for the drive thru. In the administration section, volunteers help to record and enter all necessary data into the system, including conducting patient observations as well as assisting recipients in registering for the second stage of vaccinations. There are also volunteers who are on standby to help participants that need rest after undergoing vaccinations. Each morning before the vaccination facility opens, the coordination team briefs the volunteers on their assigned tasks.

The Sentra Vaksin Indonesia Bangkit also receives support from a number of XL Axiata partners, namely Benihbaik.com, Protelindo, Tower Bersama Group, Alita, and Aksi Cepat Tanggap (ACT). In addition, support also comes from the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia, the Provincial Government of West Java, and the Depok City Government, as well as the UI Alumni Association.
