Flood in South Aceh and Southeast Aceh XL Axiata Sends Staple Food Aids for Residents

Tapak Tuan, 14 December 2023. PT XL Axiata Tbk (XL Axiata) distributed donations to flood victims in South Aceh Regency and Southeast Aceh Regency, Aceh Province. Donations sent packages of basic daily necessities in the form of rice, eggs, sugar, cooking oil, packaged fish, bottled drinking water, medicines, and others. Donations were handed over to local residents in Ladang Rimba Village, Central Trumon District, South Aceh Regency, and Rikit Bur Village, Bukit Tusam District, Southeast Aceh Regency, Aceh Province, Wednesday (13/12).

 

XL Axiata West Region Group Head, Desy Sari Dewi said, "We are concerned to see the flood conditions that inundated residents' houses in Ladang Rimba Village and Rikit Bur Village. This donation is also a manifestation of XL Axiata's concern to ease the burden on the Indonesian people, including South Aceh and Southeast Aceh who are currently facing flood disasters that have submerged several districts. Regarding the network, overall the XL Axiata network in the South Aceh and Southeast Aceh regions is still in safe condition. "We have prepared the anticipation, including ready generators and network engineering."

 

Desy added that XL Axiata is collaborating with BenihBaik.com to distribute and ensure that the donations reach the targeted beneficiaries to flood victims in South Aceh and Southeast Aceh Regencies. The floods have inundated thousands of residents' houses and rice fields and damaged their property. At least 14 districts out of a total of 18 districts in South Aceh Regency and 15 districts out of a total of 16 districts, Southeast Aceh were submerged, and the number of residents affected by the flood was more than 5,000 residents. The overflowing river water pooled in East Trumon, Central Trumon, and Trumon Districts. The water level varies in each affected district location between 30 and 120 cm.

 

The Operations Control Center (Pusdalops) of South Aceh Regency BPBD reported that high intensity rain caused the water discharge of several rivers to overflow. The overflow of the Lawe Soraya River in the Sultan Daulat area of the Subulussalam City Government flows into the Lee Soraya River in the South Aceh Regency area.

XL Axiata Employees Distribute Donation of Mount Marapi Eruption Victims

Employees of PT XL Axiata Tbk (XL Axiata) through the XL Axiata Ta'lim Council (MTXL) sent emergency donations to residents affected by the eruption of Mount Marapi, in West Sumatra. The donation was given directly by XL Axiata Territory Sales Manager for the Bukittinggi area, Reza Afrialdo, to the people of Jorong Lasi Tuo, Nagari Sikumbang Koto Tinggi, Candung District, Agam Regency, West Sumatra Province (Sumbar), Thursday (14/12).

Chairman of Central MTXL, Yanuar Tirta Kumaya, said, "This assistance is one of the parts of the MTXL Disaster Response Program which aims to help Indonesian people who need assistance. This assistance is also a manifestation of the concern of XL Axiata employees to ease the burden on people who are facing disaster. After all, XL Axiata has long been part of the people of West Sumatra. We should help the residents. Hopefully, this assistance can be useful."

The emergency assistance from XL Axiata employees is in the form of packages of basic daily necessities such as rice, oil, sugar, instant noodles, packaged fish, and disposable diapers for children. All funds collected through the MTXL Disaster Response Program are channeled directly by holding various social actions for the Indonesian people in various regions.
