Jakarta, 3 October 2022. The concept of 5G Green network project, a collaboration between PT XL Axiata Tbk (XL Axiata) and Huawei Indonesia, won a prestigious event among the world's telecommunications industry actors. At the TM Forum 2022 Catalyst Awards which took place in Copenhagen, Denmark, 20-22 September 2022, XL Axiata and Huawei Indonesia won the "Outstanding use of TM Forum assets" and "People's Choice" categories. XL Axiata together with Huawei Indonesia became the first and only representatives from Indonesia to be involved in the event, which was attended by more than 130 telecommunication companies from various countries.
Director and Chief Digital Transformation & Enterprise Business Officer of XL Axiata, Yessie D Yosetya said, "The concept of the 5G Green catalyst network which has won awards in these two categories shows our seriousness in preparing a 5G ecosystem as well as applying the principles of protecting the environment in the telecommunications sector. This award is certainly will further motivate us to prepare networks and innovations that are environmentally friendly, as part of XL Axiata's efforts to provide the best quality services for the people of Indonesia."
Yessie added, at this event, XL Axiata and Huawei Indonesia demonstrated a proof-of-concept "Green 5G" catalyst project. This project explores autonomous networks and energy-efficient technologies to deploy environmentally friendly 5G networks while achieving sustainable development goals. This project is also the only catalyst project to receive more than one award.

The TM Forum 2022 Catalyst Awards are held to produce innovative concepts that can be implemented to solve common industry challenges. Awards given at the 2022 event include People's choice, Outstanding use of TM Forum assets, Outstanding Catalyst – Business impact, Outstanding Catalyst – Impact on society and sustainability, Outstanding Catalyst – Best innovation, Best ecosystem design, Best New Catalyst in show, and Future Techco.
