Jakarta, 12 November 2021. PT XL Axiata Tbk (XL Axiata) through XL Axiata Business Solutions has developed an Internet of Things (IoT) Wearable Device solution to measure a person's fitness condition. The IoT solution was chosen because it is able to provide real-time visibility anywhere and anytime without the limitations of distance and time. For further use of this service, XL Axiata cooperates with the Metropolitan Medical Centre Hospital (MMC Hospital). The signing of the cooperation between the two parties was carried out by the Chief of Enterprise & SME Officer of XL Axiata, Feby Sallyanto, and the CEO of Metropolitan Medical Centre Hospital, Dr. Roswin Rosnim Djaafar, MARS, in Jakarta, Friday (12/11).

Feby Sallyanto said, "We are committed to continue to provide various IoT solutions for all industrial sectors, including to collaborate with the health technology industry. This XL Axiata Wearable Device can be a smart device that will help MMC Hospital measure the user's condition quickly and accurately."

XL Axiata Wearable Device is a device that measures body fitness conditions such as heart rate, ECG, breathing pattern, body temperature, steps, and calories at the same time. All these signals are continuously and instantaneously measured and then analyzed with the XL Axiata IoT integrated platform, so that they can provide reports on users' fitness analysis from time to time.

Another advantage of this XL Axiata Wearable Device is that there is a notification that can be set to give a warning if certain changes occur. This sophisticated device will be very helpful and easier for users who want to improve their fitness or for early detection of heart and respiratory problems.

Dr. Roswin Rosnim Djaafar, MARS, said, "We at MMC Hospital always try to bring additional value to all patients, one of which is the Internet of Things (IoT) solution that is currently available, in collaboration with XL Axiata Business Solutions. With the IoT Wearable Device or Smart Healthcare device at the Wellness Centre at MMC Hospital, it is hoped that patients will care more about their own body condition because they can now measure it in real time. Thus, currently patients at the Wellness Centre can recondition their bodies, improve their fitness, and improve their health status.”

Dr. Roswin added, in line with the main motto of MMC Hospital, namely prioritizing quality and patient-focused services, this collaboration in developing Internet of Things (IoT) solutions with XL Axiata Business Solutions is expected to provide services and experiences to patients in a more comprehensive manner. Patients will experience more complete services, not only equipped with Smart Healthcare features that can measure and detect patient fitness, but also direct assistance by MMC Hospital specialists.

This Smart Healthcare device will be present at the Wellness Centre of MMC Hospital, which is a new service. Furthermore, this smart device will be used by a team of Sports Medicine Specialists when controlling and reconditioning patients. Unlike other fitness centres, apart from providing facilities similar to a gym and an outdoor jogging track, the Wellness Centre is also accompanied by direct assistance and monitoring by a team of Sports Medicine Specialists.

Regarding the sustainability of the collaboration between XL Axiata Business Solutions and MMC Hospital, according to Feby, not only in providing XL Axiata Wearable Device solutions for fitness centres, but also for other services. According to him, MMC Hospital is a corporate customer that has implemented several other ICT solutions from XL Axiata Business Solutions to support operations. These include connectivity to dedicated corporate internet services and access points, as well as business communications.

"In the future, we hope that we will be able to continue to develop IoT-based solutions for the health technology sector and enrich the insights gained. We will expand our cooperation with a number of health centers and fitness centers," added Feby.
