The Temptrax 2501 is useful for monitoring temperatures up to minus 55 degrees Celsius, and has a local data logger feature. In addition, this device also provides data for product quality analysis purposes. Users with 2G, 3G, and 4G signals can utilize the monitoring dashboard to get all of these features.

Jakarta, 27 May 2022. PT XL Axiata Tbk (XL Axiata) continues to develop Internet of Things (IoT)-based solutions that accommodate business actors from various segments. The "Temptrax 2501" in the form of a smart chiller is one of the devices being developed by XL Axiata's IoT development lab, X-Camp, to meet the needs of the Cold Chain business. This solution aims to help problems in the cold storage-based industrial chain to be able to maintain the quality of food and medicines by monitoring the storage environment.

X-Camp has been developing the Temptrax 2501 solution since 2021. Currently, this IoT-based solution is still in prototype form to be further developed according to the needs of users from the industry. However, after several months of testing, all the functions of the Temptrax 2501 were able to work optimally when it was released on April 1, 2022.

Director & Chief Technology Officer XL Axiata, I Gede Darmayusa said, “The Temptrax 2501 is an MVP (Minimum Viable Product) made by X-Camp, our IoT lab facility, which is ready to be massively built. Like other IoT products, the Temptrax 2501 must constantly adapt to the needs of the usually specific market. We still need to learn more about customization regarding features, SLAs, and prices according to user needs before moving on to commercialization. Currently Temptrax can also be integrated with the SMILE system belonging to the Indonesian Ministry of Health."

Gede added, initially this solution was created based on the situation during the pandemic, namely when the process of distributing the Covid-19 vaccine was not evenly distributed throughout Indonesia and checking the temperature of the Covid-19 vaccine was still done manually at the storage location. In addition, considering that Indonesia is the 7th largest market in the world in the cold chain industry, this solution can also overcome similar problems in the case of the F&B industry such as frozen food and ice cream."

The Temptrax 2501 can measure temperatures down to minus 55 degrees Celsius and has a local data logger. Users with 2G, 3G, and 4G signals can utilize the monitoring dashboard to get all of these features. From this feature, the user can find out the location of the cooler. Temptrax 2501 also provides data for product quality analysis purposes. This tools also includes a battery backup to ensure that power is available while monitoring.

How does this Temptrax 2501 solution work? This device is placed in a cold storage area. Thus, Temptrax can measure the temperature inside the cooler. Equipped with GPS, this device can detect the position of the cooler. Furthermore, all data generated from the sensor is sent to the IoT server via GSM (2G/3G/4G) communication mode.

Users can then access these data through a special monitoring device or through a smartphone. Accurate environmental temperature monitoring methods can prevent and solve problems in storage areas. Proper treatment of stored commodities can improve product quality according to market demand.

According to Gede, Temptrax 2501 is targeting a specific market niche and has the potential to grow in the next 5-10 years. The potential for the development of the cold chain industry in Indonesia, which is projected to become the 7th largest market in the world by 2030, is certainly an opportunity for the existence of Temptrax 2501. The solutions offered by Temptrax 2501 will be able to answer the needs of cold chain industry players in Indonesia.
