Jakarta, November 20th, 2020. PT XL Axiata Tbk (XL Axiata) has again won an international award. XL Axiata successfully achieved this award through the Asia Corporate Excellence & Sustainability Awards (ACES) 2020. In this international event, XL Axiata won two awards in the category of Asia's Most Influential Companies and Top Community Care Companies in Asia. The award was handed over online on Tuesday (10/11), according to health protocols due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
President Director & CEO of XL Axiata, Dian Siswarini said, "Thank God, in the current situation of the Covid-19 pandemic, XL Axiata has won two international awards which is an acknowledgment of our ability to inspire or motivate people to be more productive and find solutions to problems. Faced, as well as in our ability to manage social programs for the community. Of course, this is quite encouraging for all employees and will motivate us to be a company that contributes to building our beloved Indonesia."
This award was successfully obtained because XL Axiata is considered as one of the telecommunications companies in Asia that are considered successful in implementing leadership and corporate social responsibility in contributing to society, including of course the company's performance in responding to developments in the telecommunications industry.
In this award, XL Axiata went through several selection stages from May to June 2020, including preliminary research and assessment conducted by the organizing committee, completing various documents and assessment requirements to the committee, panel interviews with the jury, data verification process, and completeness of documents, until the determination of the results by the jury, and the official announcement in early November 2020.
Asia Corporate Excellence & Sustainability Awards 2020 is an award initiated by MORS Group (http://www.morsgroup.com/ ), a management consulting firm based in Malaysia. Also, XL Axiata won the Honorable Mention award in the "Community and Industry Engagement" category at the international Asia Pacific WEPs Award 2020 organized by UN Women Indonesia. This award was given for XL Axiata's support for empowering Indonesian women through the Sisternet program. The UN Women Indonesia - Asia Pacific WEPs Award 2020 event was attended by more than 60 private sectors, and XL Axiata was successfully included in 21 private sectors that received appreciation from this event.
The WEPs Awards are part of a broader initiative of the WeEmpowerAsia program by UN Women with financial support by the European Union and in line with the Women Empowerment Principles - seven principles that guide businesses and companies to make their value chains more gender-responsive. Winners from Indonesia will have the opportunity to participate in the 2020 UN Women WEPs Awards at the Asia Pacific regional level, which will be held on December 15th, 2020.
